Optimal Siting and Sizing of Battery Energy Storage: Case Study Seventh Feeder at Nakhon Phanom Substation in Thailand

The optimal siting and sizing of battery energy storage system (BESS) is proposed in this study to improve the performance seventh feeder at Nakhon Phanom substation, which a distribution network with connected photovoltaic (PV) Thailand. considered objective function aims by minimizing costs incurred within day, comprising voltage regulation cost, real power loss peak demand cost. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) applied solve problem. It found that BESS installation could terms cost minimization, profile, loss, demand. results are investigated from three cases where case 1 without PV installation, 2 only 3 installations. comparison show provided best costs, deviation, compared those 2; 1, USD 4598, 5418, 1467, respectively.
